From time to time, I’ll write an article about a pen-related topic of particular interest to me. A selection of these writings can be found here.
I offer a variety of restoration services for writing instruments, with a focus on the reversal of dents in Parker “51” fountain pen caps.
Though I don’t consider myself a dealer, I do sell a few items occasionally. Take a look in my shop and see if there’s something you like.
I just wanted to take a moment to rave about the work Daniel did on my Parker 51 Signet…it arrived earlier this week. I am in shock. It is far, far beyond what I hoped [he could] do with it. Incredible… To say the pen was dented would be like saying the Grand Canyon is a divot. The pen was mangled. I received it as part of a multi-pen auction win, and had initially thought it would at best be a parts pen. I sent it to Daniel and in practically no time he had it looking almost new. He fixed a crushed cap, dented barrel, squashed inner cap, and restored the blue diamond on the clip too. Fast, friendly, and professional- what more could you want? I can’t recommend Daniel highly enough.
The pen came in today and I am extremely impressed with your skillful repair. I planned to look at the pen with great scrutiny, knowing this would be the most careful look it would get from me. Your results are amazing! To be honest, I doubted you could get the dents out well enough to satisfy me. Not that I thought you weren’t a good repairman, it was more the realization that I am very particular, probably had some unrealistic expectations and I wanted the pen to look essentially as it did when I bought it for my father. In addition to now having a nice looking pen, I also have the nostalgia of knowing this was the pen that I bought some 40 years ago when I was in college and worked at the pen counter at the university bookstore. It is very gratifying to know that there is someone like you that is committed to such a high level of service.
